Stunning Cortijo with guest house in the Granada province, Andalusia, Southern Spain. Close to the picturesque village of Montefrio. Access over a gravel road, approximately 5 minutes from the main road. Ample parking. The main Cortijo is accessed through a lovely courtyard with outdoor seating. Overgrown by vines that provide shade in the summer. The main door opens to a hallway with on the right a lovely dining room that connects to the fully fitted kitchen on the other side of the hall way. The kitchen is finished in a rustic style, yet with todays appliances as a ‘cooker-tab’. From the kitchen you access a large lounge area with a fireplace. All these rooms are finished with rustic tiling and beamed ceilings.
The large living room opens toward the courtyard, which basically functions as outdoor living and dining during the summer months. For chilly winter days, or hot summer afternoons, the current owner has redesigned the chapel into a lovely dining area. When there are many guests this a a lovely and cosy place to wine, dine and chat until the early hours.
On the ground floor in the cortijo is further a guest toilet and a a large bedroom suite with bathroom, which is currently in use as second living room or reading room. The first floor can be accessed by internal stairs or has a direct entrance on the side of the Cortijo. It has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The master suite also has a private sitting area with a fireplace and a dressing room. All bathrooms are renovated and every bedroom is charmingly furnished, each in its own style. On this floor is also a laundry room and an ironing room.
From the main house, you can wander down to the (heated) pool, with ample sunbathing terraces and lounge terraces to relax in the shade or the sun looking out over the amazing mountain ranges and olive groves.
From the pool, steps up lead to the former Hammam. The hammam/SPA is currently not in use. It needs new tubing and heating system so could be restored. It has a hot and cold bath. The hot bath was before heated by the pellet burner. Wandering further up the stairs you will find a chapel, which at present is in use as dining room for large dinner parties.
A little bit away from the main Cortijo is the fully fitted cosy guest house. It has a salon kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Private terrace in the front and the side of the house. As any good farmhouse needs a The first floor of this building is the perfect office, to work from home. Part of it is also in use as a Gym. It is basically a multifunctional room that could fit many needs. There is a toilet on this floor as well.
The vegetable garden is fully prepared to grow your own food and there is a variety of sheds next to it for storage, or to keep small animals. To complete the full farm feel of this unique property. The 150 olive trees and 50 almond trees on the Finca are maintained by one of the neighbours. In return, the owner gets a few bottles of extra virgin olive oil every year.
This Cortijo has its own water supply through a well, is connected to the mains electricity supply, and has solar panels for electricity (14.4KW). Electric radiators in every room for heating, and underfloor heating in the Spa/Hammam by means of a pellet burner. Hot water is partly by electric boilers and partly by a pellet burner. Internet connection by Starlink. Automatic Chlorine and PH system for the pool. The 10.000L deposit for drinking water is set up with a filter system. Garden with irrigation system. The property is sold mostly furnished.
