Casares, January 23, 2013. Located at only 14 km of the Costa del Sol is the beautiful white village of Casares, surrounded by several natural parcs. Not many people know that on the access roads and tracks towards these parcs, you will find stunning fincas and country villas.

Beautiful fincas with Excellent access

We were glad to see that the Casares town hall has just finished some maintenance works on ‘Calle Arquita’. This partly concreted and partly gravelled road is now in an excellent condition! Driving up the road, just after 500 meters you will find an old ‘fuente’ where fresh water is running directly from the mountain. The fuente is restored and the benches offer a splendid possibility to enjoy the spectacular view over the village and the coast. Passing the fuente, meandering up the mountain, various properties are scattered over the countryside. Some are old restored fincas, others are new built high quality villas. Despite of size and quality, they all have one thing in common: They merge completely into the countryside and have breathtaking panoramical views.

Exploring Sierra Crestellina

The Sierra Crestellina, which is basically on your doorstep if you live in Calle Arquita, is a protected natural parc. There are several ways to explore this parc since it open to the public. A walking route takes you alongside  the crest of the mountain and if you go early enough in the morning you will most certainly see various species that share these grounds with us amongst them wild boar and deer. Another way to explore is on horseback or on mountainbike.  Whatever way or route you choose, you will always enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surroundings and the fantastic views. The routes are quite well signposted but if you would like a map beforehand you can find it on the townhall’s website: route through the Sierra Crestellina.
