Country property with guest house in the mountains near Casares, Malaga, Andalusia Spain. A very charming 4 bedroom Country House with amazing views from the terraces and the living room towards the sea, the rock of Gibraltar and the Atlas mountains on the African continent. Situated private yet not isolated. A finca comes with over 11.500m2 of land. The land is partly flat, ideal for the fruit and vegetable garden and partly sloping forest land, all cleared and accessible. The 3 bed Main house measures 193m2, 1 bed guest apartment 49m2.
This country house is accessed by a mostly concreted track, approximately 5 minutes from the main road. Automatic gates open to ample private parking. The entrance drive also leads to a 1 car car port, currently in use as storage. Main door opens on the left to a spacious and light open kitchen and dining room. A lovely room with high beamed ceiling, and large wooden double glazed windows. The sun lightens up this room from early morning till the end of the day. And the views from this room are in one word spectacular. Straight to the South you have sea views as well as to Gibraltar and the Moroccan mountains. The kitchen opens up to a terrace with the same views. Ideal for breakfast or outside dining. From here you can also access the pool.
From the main door to the right a Moorish styled archway leads you the cosy living room, also with high beamed ceiling. Sofa’s are placed around the wood burner. In winter time this is the snug on a colder day. And in summer time it is an ideal place to relax during siesta time. There is also a guest toilet on this floor.
Stairs lead to the -1 where you have the master suite with en-suite bathroom. Build in wardrobes over the full width of the bedroom. French window doors open up to a gallery from where you can walk directly to the large pool area. There are two more bedrooms and 1 bathroom on this floor. One of these bedrooms is currently in use as a reading room/library. All of the bedroom open up to the gallery with French window doors, that gives way to the large terrace and lounge and relax area around the pool.
The pool area is a true delight. The pool measures 5×10 meters There are ample sunbathing terraces and also a large covered terrace for lounging during lazy afternoons in the shade and enjoying the surrounding countryside and views. The pool area is basically your second lounge in summer time. There is also a fully fitted outdoor kitchen with bar, a BBQ area, Jacuzzi and of course a covered terrace for an outside dining table. You can imagine yourself spending the summers here with friends and family.
From the pool terrace there are steps up to the main living quarters and steps down leading to the guest apartment. The 49m2 guest apartment has it’s private entrance and is completely independent from the main house. It can also be accessed following the driveway around the house. It has a sitting room with half open kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. Even though it is in a good condition, it would need a bit of updating.
Next to the guest apartment is a large car port/garage from here you enter an ample technical room and workshop under the house. The water deposit and the electric water heater for the hot water supply.
The formal garden around this country property is set up for easy maintenance, mostly planted with Mediterranean plants suitable for the climate. The remaining plot is kept rustic. On the full plot the undergrowth is cleared. Beamed pathways make the full plot accessible. A patch is prepared for the vegetable garden and there is a chicken pen. It is a delight to wander over the plot and explore the forest. The forest is definitely the place to put up your hammock or swing up in one of the ancient cork oaks!
The country house was built in 1998, the guest house was finished in 2002. The main house, kitchen and bathrooms were refurbished in 2018. There is central heating in the house with radiators, gas fired, yet the current owners never used it, so gas installation needs to be re-certified and the boiler checked or replaced if needed. The current owners heat the house with 2 very efficient log burners and AC units hot and cold in the bedrooms and casita. The property is connected to mains water, mains electricity and internet. It has a septic tank for waste water.
As said before, a private, country property in Casares, but not isolated. A 10 minute drive to the picturesque village of Casares, where you can find your daily shoppings in the supermarkets or local shops. There are also several bars and restaurants, one with a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Yet if this is not enough, the coast with its beaches and golf courses is only 15 minutes away.
