Whether you’re staying in a peaceful finca in the hills or a luxurious villa near the coast, here’s your insider guide to the most exciting events of summer 2025.
Estepona: Festive heartbeat by the Sea
Estepona’s summer calendar is packed with festive energy. The biggest highlight is the Feria de Julio, taking place from July 1st to 6th. For six days, the town buzzes with traditional Andalusian flair: horse parades, music, dance, and open-air concerts.
Another unmissable event is the Feria del Jamón, held along the town’s palm-lined promenade from August 8 to 17. This celebration of Spain’s finest cured ham offers tastings, food stands, live music and a relaxed seaside vibe. It’s a true gourmet gathering under the stars.

Casares: Authentic Celebrations in the Hills
For a more traditional take on summer, head inland to Casares, where the village square becomes the heart of the action. From July 31 to August 3, the Feria de Casares brings together residents and visitors for four days of music, dancing, and Andalusian charm.
Sport and community come together on July 12, with the Carrera Nocturna, a nighttime running event that winds through the narrow village streets, a unique experience for participants and spectators alike.
And as summer fades, celebrations return in September with the Festividad de la Virgen, held on the 5th and 6th. These intimate, heartfelt events reflect the deep traditions of the village and the warm spirit of its people.

Sotogrande: Polo, Flamenco and Seaside Sophistication
In Sotogrande, summer revolves around stylish and high-profile events. The Ayala Polo Club kicks off its season in late May, building toward the internationally renowned International Polo Tournament from July 28 to August 30. Guests can enjoy matches with world-class teams, while relaxing with champagne and fine tapas in the shaded pavilions.
For a different kind of spectacle, don’t miss the Trocadero Flamenco Festival, a contemporary event blending traditional Andalusian music with modern flair, set right on the water’s edge. Passionate, stylish and uniquely southern, it’s one of the most elegant cultural events in the region.
Gaucín: Culture, Music and Flamenco Magic
High above the coast, the whitewashed village of Gaucín hosts a number of low-key yet captivating events each summer. The annual Cultural Week, typically held in July or August, showcases art, poetry, theatre and music, often in intimate outdoor settings under the stars.
One of the most anticipated events is the Flamenco Festival, which draws both locals and aficionados from surrounding areas. The power of the cante jondo, the rhythm of dancers on a small wooden stage, and the mountain air combine to create a deeply moving cultural experience.
For dates and details, local event listings are often shared on Gaucín’s social platforms.
Marbella: Nights of Music and Elegance
Marbella once again plays host to one of Europe’s most prestigious music events: the Starlite Occident Festival, running from June 13 to August 29. Set in a natural amphitheatre carved into the mountainside, this intimate venue welcomes international stars such as Will Smith, Duran Duran, Camila Cabello, Marc Anthony, and Pet Shop Boys.
More than a concert series, Starlite is a full experience with fine dining, private lounges and after-parties that stretch into the early morning. For music lovers and socialites alike, this is the season’s top cultural event.
