Authentic old molino, Casarabonela
A property that stills conserves it’s old, Andalusian style in Casarabonela, Málaga, Andalusía. This large building is 200 years old and has worked up until the 20th century as a wheat mill, still conserving some part of the machinery in the old working area; now converted to a living room that gives access to the garden.
All of the property is fenced and has a large orchard and garden, a pool area, an independent building that is used for the animals (that could easily be converted into a guest’s apartment) and three wells. As this mill worked by water force, we can appreciate the “acequías” (irrigation ditches), meaning that they used to look for a way to take water to the mill, mainly built with stones, which the family has maintained as part of the building.
From the main entrance, there is the sitting room and the living room (with the machinery) and Access to the garden. From the sitting room, there is another living room with a chimney, that leads to the beautiful kitchen and the stairs to the first floor. The kitchen still maintains the original double marble sink. Leaving the kitchen, there is a beautiful and private Andalusian patio, and some stairs to the covered area, now a garage; with large, wooden doors that lead outside that used to be used to store cereal.
On the first floor, there is a large hallway to an individual bedroom, a bathroom and three doublé bedrooms with built-in wardrobes. Also, the main bedroom with en-suite bathroom. From the hallway, there is a door to the exterior, stone stairs that lead to a sunny and pretty terrace.
The property has lots of different types of fruit trees: fig, pomegranate, lemon, orange, tangerine, kaki, avocado… With the amount of wáter that this property has, anything can be grown and cultivated. The same goes for the garden, there are thousands of plants everywhere.
The property has mains water and electricity, apart from the three wells, it is located on the outskirts of the village, a small walking distance, but without any noise or rush. It is only 40 minutes from the International Airport in Málaga.
