New Inheritance Tax in Andalusia. Good news to start the New Year 2018! The Junta de Andalucía has now approved a law to lower the inheritance tax in Andalusia. This means from the 1st of January, 2018, parents and spouses, children and grandchildren will not pay tax on the first 1.000.000€ inherited. This is very good news for property owners and purchasers in Andalusia as well! The first one million euros inherited by next of kin, that is to say, spouses, children, grandchildren and parents; is free of tax.

Many clients owning a country house in Andalusia cover the running costs of the house by renting it out during the holiday season. Others came here to semi-retire and decided to set up a small B&B to share their experience of living on the countryside with clients and at the same time provide an income.
The Andalusian government recently published new legislation with regards to letting your private villa for holidays in Andalusia. In May they will have a registry ready and house owners offering their homes for holiday rentals are obliged to sign their villa up. Villa’s on the countryside will have to register in the rural tourism registry.
