The city of Ronda offers everything you need. It’s historical sites as ‘El Tajo’, the oldest bullring of Spain, the cathedral and the ‘baños Romanos’, to mention some, attract many visitors. Meeting up for tapas on Plaza del Socorro is another possibility.

Leisure

Horse riding, walking or biking through the mountains around Ronda is divine. If you are looking for unspoiled nature, here is where you will find it! If you prefer to undertake these activities in groups there are several equestrian and walking  clubs in the area as well as the more adventurous clubs for rock climbing or mountain biking. The village of Gaucin provides in all your basic needs. You will find several small supermarkets, even an eco-shop, a butcher who offers homemade chorizo and sausages, a baker, and lovely fresh fruit and vegetables. It is a lovely village to wonder around,  to have a typical Spanish breakfast on one of the squares. The villagers welcome you in. There is a health center, an ambulance service  and the nearest hospital is in Ronda (25 minute drive).  Ronda is the nearest town where you will find everything you need. The nearest international school is in Sotogrande.

Around Gaucin you will find several ‘Venta’s', local restaurants with excellent typical Spanish ‘comida casera’, home cooked meals. Restaurant La Fuente offers a more international menu as does the restaurant of La Fructuosa. Gaucin is further known for its artistic scene and counts with some nice galleries and regular expositions.

Leisure

Having this strong artistic scene you will find a broad range of art courses, from Flamenco music to modern painting. Furthermore, Gaucin offers the perfect environment for horseriding and hiking. For nature lovers the mountains around Gaucin are a paradise. They will see vultures and eagles, find wild orchids to mention just some of the features.

The famous Montenmedio Golf and Country Club is well known for its international competitions in jumping and dressage. The crème de la crème from all over Europe attends for example The Sunshine Tour of both jumping and dressage are held during the months of February and March with 450 riders from 46 different nations and 1.500 horses.  Montenmedio has 1300 permanent stables, 11 training and competition arenas,  extensive parking for lorries and trailers, a village area and restaurants. Those who prefer the beach count with the long sandy beaches of El Palmar and Conil. The beaches are well known for their spectacular body boarding and surfing possibilities.

Just focusing on a few of the leisure highlights.  The Marina offers a variety of water sports activities. Benalmadena has some very nice golf courses but the golf players have over more than 150 courses at their disposal at the Costa del Sol. The town counts with a vibrant night life and those who prefer a change every now and than, Puerto Banús is at a 20 minute drive. In summer the Tivoli parc offers lots of shows and concerts and in winter Benalmadena counts with an real icerink! You won’t get bored in Benalmadena. We’ve only mentioned a few atractions.
